Commitment Statement
This Commitment Statement sets forth our beliefs, commitments and pledges to the future benefits and improvement of breed, for any dogs we may breed. It is a commitment, not only to the breed it’s self, but to the future owners and to the breed clubs and associations we belong to.
- Our goal is to breed dogs of standards as set forth by the parent association and adopted and approved by the AKC. Not only to the standard, but to try to help improve the breed through conscientious selection of mates.
- We will maintain a working relationship with the Parent Association and our local clubs.
- Any information we have or have access to on our dogs or the breeds, will be shared with anyone that may inquire for their personal interests.
- Our dogs will be maintained in the best of health, physically and mentally through care, diet, exercise, and field work.
- Dogs in our care will not be raised; yard chained, run restricted, or in any other manner that will deny them the opportunity to develop and maintain good social habit.
- Dogs that leave our care will be up to date on all vaccinations and in good health, as stated in our guarantees.
- We will never knowingly place a puppy or an adult dog into a home that we feel would not provide a good atmosphere for the continued health, care and mental development of the animal.
- We will never intentionally breed dogs with known hereditary defects, such as, but not limited to dysplasia.
- The pedigree shall be provided for both sides of the parents for any breeding we may do.
- The DNA will be provided on the Dam and Sire of any breeding, as well as the DNA of the puppy. This is done for both the parentage and also another protection if the dog is ever lost.
- We will not purchase from any breeder that cannot or will not supply the DNA records for their breeding on both sides for proof of parentage. This is not a trust issue, rather a demonstration of commitment and tacking.
- Our puppies will be micro chipped at our expense before they leave our care. We use Home Again chipping on our dogs.
- The puppies will not leave our care until they are well socialized nor before the age of 10 weeks of age.
- The matching of a dog and a perspective new owner is sensitive and shall remain our final decision.
- The puppies shall have a life time guarantee as to Genetic health and our commitment to take back any dog that the owners may not want for any reason. Genetic health is the development of genetic defects that may develop with even the best of screening of the breeding process.
- Breeding records will be kept and available for view by anyone interested in one of our litters or if requested by the AKC.
- In keeping with the continued good breeding practices, we will only recommend other breeders that we know personally and subscribe to the same basic beliefs as ours.
- We will not sell or donate any dog to any organization, no matter how good their intentions, which will auction or provide the dog as a trophy or gift. This must be done so that we do not lose all control over their placement into a quality home.
- When possible, we will try to educate the public on the breeds and the role that responsible breeders play in the continued improvement of them.
- Though we have our standards, we will fight to keep the government from setting or imposing regulations that will restrict or hinder the responsible breeders of the AKC breeds.
- As responsible breeders, we will never sell to or support the “Pet Store” concept. We believe they value the Profit Quantity over the Breed Quality.
With these basic stated beliefs and pledges, we will strive to educate the public, through personal interactions and when possible, through positive media information. With the betterment of the breeds in mind, we will strive to produce pets with temperament and personalities that will carry them from the ring, to the field, into the house and around the general public.
We believe that “The responsibility of breeding does not end with the placement of a pet, but truly begins there and continues for the life of the dogs”.
